HOW TO GET THERE
The central part of Masuria (Great Masurian Lakes) is situated in the north-eastern corner of Poland, close to the border with Russia. The biggest town is Gizycko, and the other main and frequently visited resorts include Wegorzewo, Mikolajki, Ruciane-Nida, Pisz and Ryn. They are connected by rail, but it is easiest to get there by car (main road nos. 16, 58, 59 and 63). It is about 250 km from Gizycko to Warsaw, 250 km from Gdansk, 150 km from Bialystok, 100 km from Olsztyn and around 80 km from Suwalki.
